Logistics Providers Remain Active
Excluding the huge Jaguar Land Rover manufacturing deal, logistics providers were the most active occupier sector in Q3, taking up 2.3m sq ft. DHL in particular signed two big-box deals, including the pre-let of a 538,280 sq ft site to be built in Manton Wood, Nottinghamshire.
Retail occupiers had a quieter quarter, adopting a wait-and-see approach, ahead of the October 31 Brexit deadline and crucial winter shopping season, before committing to a new lease.
D&B units dominated take-up in Q3, with 4.39m sq ft over the period, or 55% of the total, as occupiers increasingly seek customised space to meet specialist business needs.
