3PL providers were most active in Q4, including Europa Worldwide's pre-let of a 525,000 sq ft unit at Midlands Logistics Park in Corby, and iForce, an Eddie Stobart subsidiary, taking out a 15 year lease on Nickel 28, a 261,000 sq ft spec built warehouse on South Normanton Estate.
Helped by these two deals, take-up in the East Midlands reached record levels (10.0m sq ft) for the second consecutive year in 2019.
Looking at 2019 as a whole, no one sector dominated in terms of take-up - a positive sign that the occupier market is diversifying as companies look to future-proof supply chains.
